Privacy policy

Information we collect

• Account details. Your name, email address, time zone, and the preferences you choose for your account.
• Learning progress. The concepts you have studied, the words you have used, and the items you save for practice.
• Billing. Membership status and payment history. Payments are made through our payment processors, Stripe on the website, Google Play in the Android app, and the App Store in the iPhone app. Card details are entered with and held by them; Daber never receives your full card number.
• Feedback and messages. Anything you send us through the feedback button or by email.
• Technical information. Your IP address, browser and device details, and the pages you visit, collected for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate usage statistics.

How we use your information

• To run your conversations, teaching, and practice, and to adapt them to your level.
• To sign you in, manage your membership, and send account and billing emails.
• To answer your questions and act on your feedback.
• To keep the service secure and to prevent automated abuse.
• To understand how the site is used and to improve it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Daber uses Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm that requests come from people rather than automated programs. Turnstile may collect information about your browser, device, and connection to perform this check. Cloudflare’s handling of that information is described in the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Play Integrity

The Daber Android app uses Google Play Integrity to confirm that requests come from a genuine installation of the app on a genuine device. Google may collect information about the app, your device, and your Google Play account to perform this check.

DeviceCheck

The Daber iPhone app uses Apple DeviceCheck to confirm that requests come from a genuine Apple device running the app. Apple may collect information about the app and your device to perform this check.

Retention and security

We keep your account information, conversations, and learning history while your account exists so that Daber can continue to teach from where you left off. Information is transmitted over encrypted connections, and access to it is restricted.

Deleting your account

You can request deletion of your account in the Android or iPhone app or on the website, from your profile. If you cannot sign in, email our support address from the address on your account. A Stripe or Google Play membership stops renewing, you keep access until the end of any paid period, and your account is deleted after that, or within 30 days when there is no paid period. Deleting your Daber account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it in the App Store so you are not billed again.

We delete your account details, conversations and recordings, learning progress, saved items, and feedback. We keep billing records without personal details, and Stripe, Google Play, and the App Store keep their own transaction records. Deleted information can remain in database backups for up to 14 days and in application logs for up to 30 days before it is removed.
